This story follows a treasured friendship, symbolized by a red string, between two children. As they grow up, this bond is increasingly tested and strained - childhood innocence cannot last forever.
When one of the children sees a frightening image of the future, he grows obsessed with avoiding that outcome. His fixation on that fear, however, only drives the two friends farther apart.
The outcome is meant to be seen as inevitable. This story explores how we create and realize our own fears, the self-fulfilling prophecy of anxiety, and the tragedy of miscommunication.
